Schkelia - your photos looks like a younger weka to me, but I am not sure. Maybe you could do a little bit of research as to the life cycle of weka etc. Did you know that in many parts of the North Island it is no longer possible to see weka freely in the open like we are lucky enough to in Hokitika? You might like to make an interesting brochure about weka for the information centre in town as many tourists think that weka are kiwi! Mrs Phelps
